We are a military treatment facility and due to this there will be days that we must close due to military operational requirements. For updated information on upcoming closures, please visit our website and join us on Facebook.

TRICARE Prime beneficiaries can enroll in to Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic, by calling TRICARE directly 1-800-874-2273 (1-800-TRICARE) or online through the Health Net Federal Services Beneficiary website.

TRICARE enrollees are assigned a Primary Care Manager (PCM). During the appointment when you have seen your PCM, he or she may decide that a specialty referral is needed for your care.

Patients can speak with the Nurse Advice Line after normal hours by calling 1-800-TRICARE, Option 1.

Referrals

You can log in to your HUMANA Portal to manage your health by:

  • Checking your claims
  • Verifying your eligibility
  • Viewing your referrals
  • Viewing your authorizations

A specialty referral is the process of sending a patient to another doctor or other qualified health care provider for services that the referring provider cannot provide. You may be referred for specialty care in the TRICARE network or to another military hospital or clinic. Generally, you will receive a referral authorization from Health Net Federal Services within seven to 10 business days in the mail.

When you receive your authorization letter from TRICARE, you will have the name of the specialist you are to see, their address, how many visits are allotted to you and the date the referral expires.  Your referral is usually valid for one diagnosis per specialty and expires in six months or six visits, whichever expires first. If you do not use all the visits or the calendar date is up, your referral will need to be extended by the specialist or you will need to see your PCM for a new referral BEFORE you have another visit with the specialist.

Visit TRICARE for information on Network Specialty Providers in the East Region.

Except in cases of medical emergencies and certain services that may be self-referred, care provided in other treatment facilities (military or non-military) or to a specialist (military or non-military) require a referral by the beneficiary’s PCM prior to receiving care. Without the proper referral from your PCM, you may be financially responsible for a portion of your care.

TRICARE excludes or significantly limits the coverage for certain services. To read or get more information on these services that may not be covered or have coverage limitations check your TRICARE Prime Handbook or with your regional contractor. The TRICARE Information Line is, 1-877-874-2273, or on the web

The evaluate and treat referral is usually valid for one diagnosis per specialty and expires in six months or six visits, whichever is first. The evaluate only referral is usually valid for one diagnosis per specialty and expires in six months or one visit, whichever comes first.
